The National Elder Law Network was founded in 1995 as Kansas Elder Law Network, and was one of the first comprehensive Web-based sources of comprehensive information on elder law and policy. Since that time, NELN has been a reliable source of free information on legal issues affecting seniors. Its content includes annotated research bibliographies and legal pathfindersauthored and updated by law students at the William Mitchell College of Law and the University of Kansas, reports by the Congressional Research Service on elder law and policy related issues, and other articles and consumer-friendly materials aimed at the elderly, their attorneys and advocates, and their caregivers.
NELN’s resources may be linked freely from other websites, and downloaded and distributed subject to the provisions of NELN’s Notice of Copyright, Trademark, and Disclaimer.
NELN’s founder, Kim Dayton, is Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Elder Justice and Policy at William Mitchell College of Law. The site is maintained with the assistance of Sean Felhofer, a member of the Law Library staff.
NELN would not exist without the hard work of the dozens of law students, librarians, and staff members who have worked on this site over the past fifteen years.
